Post a job

Employer terms.

The rules for advertising a job on UB1UB2 Jobs (jobs.ub1ub2card.com). UB1UB2 Jobs is run by Southall Social Ltd, trading as UB1UB2, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13100902). “We” means us; “you” means the business posting the advert.

Job seekers never pay

Searching, saving jobs, alerts and applying are free for job seekers, always. You must never ask an applicant for money, for training, uniform, checks or anything else, as a condition of applying or being offered the job.

Prices

  • Standard advert: £35 for four weeks.
  • Featured advert: £75 for four weeks: shown first in searches and with a bigger pin on the map.
  • Story share: £100 (see “The @ub1ub2 story” below).
  • Monthly plans: from £59 a month (see “Monthly plans” below).
  • Extending an advert for four more weeks: £25 Standard or £55 Featured (Card price £20 and £44), as many times as you like, while it’s live or up to two weeks after it ends. It keeps its page, its applicants and its original date posted, goes back to the top of the newest jobs marked “Refreshed”, is sent again to job alerts, and Featured stays Featured. A free launch-offer advert extends at the Card price; jobs on a monthly plan extend on the plan.
  • Upgrading a live Standard advert to Featured: £40 (Card price £32). It runs to the advert’s existing end date.
  • UB1UB2 Card members and Card partners pay 20% less for adverts: £28 Standard and £60 Featured. A member’s Card price is for the email on their Card, so the advert’s email has to be that one; partners use their partner code. We check the Card price against our membership records or the code; if it doesn’t match, we’ll ask for the difference before the advert goes live.
  • All prices include VAT. You pay on ub1ub2card.com’s own Shopify checkout.

Card partner launch offer

Until 31 January 2027, each UB1UB2 Card partner business can post its first Standard advert free (one free advert per business). Featured is paid, at the Card price. We confirm you’re the partner (by your partner code, the email we hold for you, or by checking with you) before the free advert goes live. A second advert, or one from an email we can’t match to the partner, is at the Card price.

Monthly plans

Any business that posts often can choose a monthly plan instead of paying per advert:

  • Starter: £59 a month, up to 2 live jobs at any one time.
  • Growth: £129 a month, up to 5 live jobs at any one time.
  • Pro: £299 a month, up to 15 live jobs at any one time, 2 of them Featured.

Before you pay we show the price and that it renews every month. You pay the first month at checkout on ub1ub2card.com, then the same amount on the same date each month until you cancel. We email you three days before each renewal with the date, the price and how to cancel.

Cancel any time, in one tap: “Cancel plan” in your dashboard (My adverts, or any of your plan’s advert pages), or email us. Nothing more is charged after that; the plan runs to the end of the month you’ve already paid for, then stops. If a payment is taken after you cancelled, we refund it in full.

Every job on a plan runs four weeks and goes through the same checks as any other, one location per job and no duplicates. A slot frees up when a job closes, ends or is filled. If a monthly payment doesn’t go through, new jobs pause until it does; jobs already live stay up. Card prices, partner codes and launch offers don’t apply to plans. There’s no unlimited plan.

The @ub1ub2 story

A story share is £100 including VAT. It’s never discounted: Card prices, partner codes, plans and launch offers don’t apply to it. You can add it when you post, or later from your advert’s page, on its own or with any advert or plan.

One story features 1 to 3 of your live jobs, which you choose. We post it on the @ub1ub2 Instagram story, usually within 7 days of payment, and email you when it’s up. If we can’t post it, you get a full refund. The free weekly “Jobs of the week” story is separate: every live job is in the running for it, at no cost.

How adverts are checked, and refunds

Every advert is checked automatically: the postcode, the pay against the minimum wage, and the wording (fees, scams, discrimination). When everything passes and the payment (or your partner offer) is confirmed, it goes live within minutes. Anything flagged is held for a quick check by a person, usually within a few hours. We can also take a live advert down if it breaks these terms or someone reports it and it doesn’t check out. Not approved, or taken down by us? You get a full refund. We’ll email you the reason and refund the full amount to the card you paid with; refunds usually show within 5 to 10 working days. Otherwise we don’t refund an advert once it has gone live, except where the law says we must.

What an advert must be

  • A real, current vacancy that you’re hiring for, based in London, Slough and Berkshire, or the counties round London (Surrey, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and Kent), or remote within the UK.
  • Pay shown as a number, at or above the legal minimum: the National Living Wage (£12.71 an hour from 1 April 2026) or the apprentice rate for an apprenticeship. You may also give lower rates for under-21s, or choose “the legal minimum for each age”, but only at or above the legal minimum for each age (£10.85 at 18 to 20 and £8.00 under 18 from 1 April 2026, see GOV.UK). We never publish pay below the legal minimum for any age, and the 21-and-over rate is always shown, as applicants can’t be turned away because of their age. No “competitive” or “depending on experience” instead of a figure.
  • Clear about whether the job is permanent, temporary or a contract, and the usual hours.
  • If you’re an employment agency or business, you must say so (tick “We’re a recruitment agency”), and the job must be one you’ve been asked to fill.
  • Fair to everyone, as the Equality Act 2010 requires: nothing that puts people off because of age, sex, race, religion or belief, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy or marriage. Where a genuine occupational requirement applies, explain it in the advert; we’ll check it.
  • No commission-only or pay-to-join schemes, crypto or investment offers, requests for bank details or ID before an offer, or anything illegal.
  • Only one advert per vacancy at a time.

Our automatic checks look for a real UK postcode, pay at or above the minimum wage and common signs of scams. They flag adverts for us to look at; a person makes the decision.

Applications and applicants’ details

Applications that come through the site (“Apply here”) arrive as a profile card, with a CV file if the applicant added one, on your advert’s private page, and we email you each one. Use applicants’ details only to deal with their application, keep them safe, and delete them when you no longer need them. We delete applications and CV files on our side 30 days after your advert closes. Screening questions must be relevant to the job and lawful; a “must have” answer only flags an application to you, it never turns anyone away. You can tell an applicant it’s not right with one tap; we never send these in bulk.

Writing help

“Help me write this” turns your notes into a draft advert using an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude, through our own systems). We remove email addresses, phone numbers and links from your notes before they’re sent. Check the draft: you’re responsible for what your advert says.

Taking adverts down

Anyone can report an advert from its page (“Report this job”). We look at reports the same day where we can, and we may edit, pause or remove any advert that breaks these terms or looks like fraud, without a refund where the terms were broken. Where it’s right to, we report fraud to Action Fraud. Under the Online Safety Act 2023 we keep a way for users to report fraudulent or harmful content and act on reports quickly.

Jobs of the week

Each week we may include approved jobs in a free “Jobs of the week” story on @ub1ub2, chosen by us (Featured jobs first). It’s separate from the paid Instagram story, and there’s no guarantee a particular job is chosen.

You confirm

That you’re allowed to advertise the job for the business named, that the advert is accurate and lawful, and that you’ll deal with applicants fairly. You’re responsible for the job, the hiring and following employment law (including right-to-work checks). We provide the board; we’re not the employer or an agency.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them limits your rights as a consumer or our liability where the law doesn’t allow it. Otherwise our total liability to you for an advert is limited to what you paid for it. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. Questions: hello@ub1ub2card.com.
